Recently relocated to Los Angeles from their hometown of Sydney, Australia, Bag Raiders is the duo of Jack Glass and Chris Stracey, who have spent the greater part of the last ten years making a name for themselves with their infectious brand of radiant electropop, which combines real instrumentation with dance-floor ready electronic production. They made their production debut in 2007 with The Bag Raiders EP released in Australia on Bang Gang 12 Inches. The self-titled debut included their first breakout hit "Fun Punch" and was licensed by Fool's Gold in 2008 for release in the US.
The duo initially made their mark as remixers, releasing several collections of remixes in the late 00's, including work for Cut Copy, Sneaky Sound System, Midnight Juggernauts, and ZZZ, among others. 2010 saw the release of their first full-length album, Bag Raiders, which included the smash hit "Shooting Stars". The group toured extensively in the years following. Last year the duo began to make a prolific comeback with the release of two 3-song EP's, Waterfalls and Friend Inside. Both EP's were well-received by critics and all six songs charted in the top 20 on the highly watched Hype Machine Popular Chart.
In 2016, their hard work has continued with a third EP, Checkmate, and a massive North American tour with Plastic Plates which included a stop at electronic music's mecca, Ultra Music Festival in Miami. This summer sees the boys making a trip back to their home country of Australia for a run of shows in May and June.
